As a strong believer in community outreach, Benita works and advocates both professionally and personally for social causes with many different organizations. Benita’s skill in collaborating with various stakeholders on important projects and events has built a proven track record working with youth, government, non-profits, and businesses.

Benita is educated with a B.A. in Cornell University and M.A. in Boston University. Her academic and work experience in research, psychology, education, experiential-learning gave her a unique perspective in corporate and organisational training. She is also passionate in diversity and inclusion, having coached differently-abled individuals at Outward Bound Hong Kong, curated the first LGBT+ in the city tour, being a mentor for RESOLVE Foundation.

With her broad experience in community outreach and environmental education in university, NGOs and think tank, she started Encompass HK in 2018 to further the mission of advocating for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has been active in curating unique, experiential-learning experience for Encompass HK’s clients to learn about the SDGs, for example, using beer and chocolate tasting to discuss gender stereotypes.

Her other community commitments include serving as a Board Member of AIDS Concern Hong Kong, Education Director of Pink Alliance, Mentor for HKUST HeadStart Fellows and Admission Interviewer for Li Po Chun United World College. Benita is also a passionate scuba diving and marine naturalist instructor since she was 18 years old.
